We’re looking for an Assistant Grocery Manager to help customers make healthy food choices through excellent customer service while managing a high‑volume, performance‑focused team at Sprouts Farmers Market.
Responsibilities- Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
- Order and control inventory, ensure product quality, and supervise the Grocery team.
- Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
- Lead a customer‑centric team that delivers high quality products and outstanding service.
- Recruit, train, develop, and coach Grocery staff.
- Unload and sort store deliveries.
- Enforce all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ensure compliance by the Grocery team.
- Operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing schedule demands.
- Age 18 or older with 1‑3 years retail management experience.
- Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to give and receive direction.
- Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude toward customer interaction.
- Proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff while managing personnel reports and financial goals.
- A strong focus on detail, analysis, problem‑solving, organization, and planning.
- Ability to walk up to 3 miles per 8‑hour shift and perform repetitive squatting, kneeling, and bending for up to 30 hours per week.
- Physical capability to vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs. and boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. for up to 25 hours per week without mechanical assistance.
