Summary:

The Division of Surgical Research at Heart Institute, Morsani School of Medicine, University of South Florida is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow focused on Angiotensin II induced hypertension, aneurysm, and related cellular and molecular biology. A fully equipped laboratory is available in a state-of-the-art facility with access to advanced core resources. The candidate will be involved in the design and execution of mouse, cell culture, and molecular experiments.

The candidate will analyze, summarize, and organize data. The applicant must be highly motivated with some experience in cell culture and mouse handling. Mouse surgical experience desired.

• In discussion with supervisor(s), conduct animal and cellular experiments, and analyses according to established research protocols and methodologies.
• Develop new research protocols to carry out established research objectives.
• Participate in the design of research protocols to achieve scientific objectives and enable quantitative and qualitative evaluation and interpretation of data.
• Collect and analyze data using statistical methodologies and software.
• Participate in interpretation of results through conferences with supervisor(s) and other researchers.
• Review and summarize literature related to the scientific area of interest.
• Prepare presentations, grant drafts, and manuscripts based on research performed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and relevant experience in a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.
