Hirewell has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Real Estate Counsel
, by a premier, national mixed-commercial real estate owner in Tampa, FL.

This individual will lead handle complex legal matters related to a growing, national commercial real estate portfolio. Qualified individuals will have proven experience with commercial real estate leasing.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a legal partner to internal leasing teams, providing ongoing support on active deals, proposed transactions, and tenant negotiations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases and related documents, including amendments, renewals, terminations, estoppels, SNDAs, waivers, and subordination agreements.
  • Support the full leasing lifecycle - from LOI review and deal structuring - through final execution and post closing documentation.
  • Coordinate with brokers, tenants, and outside counsel to advance transactions and resolve deal-specific issues efficiently.
  • Review lease terms for compliance with portfolio-level restrictions, exclusives, use clauses, and critical dates to mitigate conflicts and risk.
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of tenant obligations, landlord responsibilities, and key lease milestones, ensuring accuracy across executed agreements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with asset management, finance, and operations to collect required exhibits, schedules, and approvals for final lease execution.
  • Assist with PSAs and support legal due diligence in connection with acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Prepare post-execution documentation, including TI agreements, waivers, and related closing materials.
  • Provide guidance on lease-related disputes, insurance matters, tenant claims, and collections issues as needed.
  • Support matters involving eminent domain and government incentive programs when applicable.
  • Track leasing activity and maintain internal reporting to ensure timely and accurate lease status updates.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate required.
  • 5-7 years of Commercial Real Estate law experience.
  • Proven experience with leasing and contract negotiations.
  • Proven ability to multitask, managing multiple real estate files in an effective manner.
