Position Summary :
The Quality Control Technician conducts daily inspections to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards. They possess the authority to enforce corrective actions for any deficiencies in work, equipment, or materials. Their duties include maintaining quality assurance protocols, conducting material testing, analyzing test results, executing quality assessments, performing inspections, calibrating equipment, and communicating findings. They also manage project document control, prepare submissions meeting project specifications, and interpret plans to ensure project compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- This role will include temporary night shift periods.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with the quality control plan and criteria as specified in the Contract Documents.
- Perform quality control sampling and testing during construction or oversee outside companies performing tests according to specifications.
- Verify that testing equipment meets requirements, tests are conducted properly, and procedures remain consistent throughout the project.
- Identify work not meeting acceptance criteria, document defective work, and report to the QC Manager.
- Administer the Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
- Complete daily field logs and take daily field photographs.
- Maintain quality control document files.
- Inspect all delivered materials for defects, proper identification, damage, completeness, and compliance with manufacturing and contractual documentation.
- Monitor delivery, handling, and storage of materials to prevent damage or contamination.
- Review and maintain manufacturer material certifications and record non-conformances on Material Delivery Receipts.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in an engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, structural) preferred.
- Knowledge of mathematics – arithmetic, geometry, calculus, and statistics and their applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with effective file and record management skills.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to drive for company business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Safety training such as 40-Hour HAZWOPER, 8-Hour OSHA Refresher, Competent Person Safety Training, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety, and EM 385-1-1 Training (training provided if needed).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, extended standing or walking on project sites, climbing in and out of equipment, and working in confined spaces or ditions may include exposure to machinery, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and weather extremes. Proper PPE is required, and safety protocols must be followed.
