Certified Veterinary Technician Shift Lead
Location:
Double Branch (Tampa). Pay range: $23.43 - $33.84
/hour.

As a Certified Veterinary Technician Shift Lead you will associate veterinary knowledge, communication skills, and love for pets to support client care, supervise the paraprofessional staff, and advance practice efficiency and quality.
Role Responsibilities- Recruit and retain clients by promoting hospital services, preventive wellness plans, and pet health needs.
- Direct client and pet flow to ensure superior care and maximize team productivity.
- Provide exceptional service: welcome visitors, educate about pet health, prepare procedures, and monitor hospitalized or surgical pets.
- Under veterinarian supervision, perform veterinarian‑technician appointments in compliance with state law.
- Complete client documentation, enter pet data, maintain proper identification, and provide instructions, invoices, and prescriptions. Manage finances, maintain accurate balances, and perform opening/closing procedures.
- Assist with surgery and other technical tasks as required.
- Mentor and train new paraprofessional associates.
- Conduct quality checks of medical records, medications, regulatory documents, and hospital cleanliness.
- Utilize technical skills and perform administrative functions as necessary.
- Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, high‑quality team and managing hospital labor.
- Support hiring, training, and daily oversight of the paraprofessional staff.
- Communicate with associates, clients, and higher‑level leadership to coordinate care and resolve issues.
- Maintain Banfield dress and grooming standards.
- identify and remove operational bottlenecks and improve patient flow.
- Assist in billing, inventory management, and client resolution decisions.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a U.S. AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program.
