Summary

We are currently looking for a Nurse Resident for our 3 West/4 West unit. Two 18-bed units provide a dynamic working environment specializing in Allogeneic and Autologous Blood and Marrow Transplant patients. Our nursing staff provides knowledgeable and skilled care within a unique interdisciplinary team. We offer Chemotherapy Certification classes and quarterly education workshops.

The Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Program at Moffitt Cancer Center is the largest and most active program of its kind in the Southeast. Committed to providing every aspect of treatment and supportive care in a single, convenient location, Moffitt is an established leader in bone marrow transplantation. We are a National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) transplant and collection center, and we are fully accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

Our Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Program serves patients with hematological conditions including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, aplastic anemia and MDS, as well as select solid tumors. Our multispecialty team recommends the most appropriate transplant option after assessing each patient’s condition. We routinely perform:

• Autologous and allogeneic transplants
• High-intensity and reduced-intensity transplants
• Cord blood transplants
• Peripheral blood stem cell transplants

Position Highlights

• The Registered Nurse delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with hospital guidelines, nursing practice model, standards, and policies, and in compliance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies.
• Registered Nurses embody the vision, mission, and philosophy of Moffitt Nursing and are committed to personalized patient- and family-centered care and the concepts of Duffy's quality caring model. Frameworks include: collaboration, dignity and human respect, encouraging manner, attentive reassurance, appreciation of unique meaning, healing environment, basic human needs, information sharing, caring for self, and affiliation needs.
• Registered Nurses use the nursing process to plan and manage quality patient care, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs with timely documentation and age-appropriate considerations.

• BSN graduates interested in beginning or transitioning to the specialty of Oncology Ambulatory Care.
