Role Overview

As a Pre‑Operative Registered Nurse, you will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high‑quality, efficient care in a high‑acuity environment. You will work in a cohesive, low‑turnover team that values patient care, professional growth and excellence.
Responsibilities- Closed on holidays and weekends (call team only when closed).
- Minimal call shifts.
- Flexible scheduling 8, 10, and 12‑hour shifts available.
- Opportunities for growth, certification and professional training. 12 RNs certified in the last year and a half (CAPA & CPAN).
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
- Provide patient and family education regarding the procedure and peri‑operative process.
- Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time‑out, debriefing, and universal protocols per hospital policy.
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
- Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition and care provided thoroughly.
- Educate patients and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow‑up measures.
- Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure (active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire).
- On‑call duty required during select non‑business hours.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/amend written instructions and follow verbal instructions; PC proficiency.
