Position: General Cardiology (APRN/PA) Instructor I

General Cardiology (APRN/PA) Instructor I (Finance)

The Division of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine are seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time Instructor position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluation with diagnostic testing and history taking in patients with suspected or confirmed cardiology diagnoses referred from Internal Medicine, Emergency physicians, or other specialties.
  • Communication with patients, families, and referring providers regarding findings and recommendations based on current guidelines.
  • Education of patients and families regarding diagnosis, testing, and results.
  • Providing independent care in the cardiology clinic under general or indirect supervision.
  • Managing medical problems, initiating, monitoring, and altering pharmacologic or lifestyle regimens.
  • Triaging inpatient consults and patient phone calls, renewing prescriptions, coordinating care, and assessing post-procedure issues.
  • Assisting and coordinating patient care with referring providers, including outpatient follow-up and recommendations.
  • Educating patients and families about diagnoses, findings, and follow-up care.
  • Documenting all orders, procedures, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

    • Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
    • Must meet university criteria for appointment as an Instructor.
    • Graduation from an accredited APRN or PA academic program, with certification as per Florida statutes and administrative codes.
    • Board certified or eligible in Acute Care or Adult Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
