Description
Created's Drop-In Center services assist to stabilize women impacted by sexual exploitation by meeting their immediate needs and providing a safe, supportive environment and offering resources. The Drop-In Center Associate will maintain the store’s overall appearance and presentation, as well as create a warm and welcoming environment to all who enter. We are looking for a person who is passionate about engaging with women and serves as a representative of Created while on duty at the Drop-In Center.
This is a part-time position at 25 hours per week. Created is a nonprofit organization that is committed to the restoration of vulnerable women involved in the sex industry to an understanding of their value, beauty, and dignity in Jesus Christ.
- Ensure all merchandise is off the floor and neatly on racks or shelves, clothes are on hangers and are in the sizes they belong.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to women being served as needed.
- Check in and assist women with selecting clothing items, accessories, hygiene products, etc. ensuring they are receiving the correct number of allotted items per case management form/vouchers.
- Greet donors respectfully, receive donations and provide a donation slip to the respective donor each time.
- Sort, organize and track distribution of donations.
- Provide weekly inventory updates to Program Director.
- Provide daily cleaning and maintenance of Drop-In Center; sweeping and mopping, dusting, and breaking down any unused boxes and placing in recycling.
- Ensure trash cans are put out on designated days.
- Drop-In Center Associate may not take for self or gift items received and intended for the Drop-In without permission from Program Director.
- Drop-In Associate may not make requests of donors or share personal contact information. If a donor asks what is needed, provide the approved Needs List. If additional information is needed, please refer to the info phone line or email.
- Personal cell phone use is not permitted.
- No personal calls during work hours.
- Ensure all doors are locked before leaving at the end of the day.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to speak, write and understand English.
- Must be sensitive to and respect cultural diversity amongst clients, staff and volunteers and able to work with diverse racial, ethnic and economic groups.
- Flexible work schedule including evenings, nights, weekends.
- Ability to set appropriate limits, work under deadlines and multi-task.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, self‑motivate, and deliver results.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Possess strong work ethics.
- Ability to empathize and practice trauma‑informed care with those who have experienced various levels of trauma.
- Mission driven attitude supplemented with integrity and passion.
- Adherence to the highest ethical standards, personally and professionally.
- A high level of openness and willingness to receive feedback/suggestions from superiors and others, and to learn new skills to improve job performance.

- CPR Certification preferred.
