Director of Programs & Member Engagement (FPN2)
Under the direction of the President & CEO, the FPN Director of Programs & Member Engagement provides key leadership for its programs and strategic engagement initiatives to serve a diverse and sophisticated membership throughout Florida.
This position is responsible for creating and supporting opportunities for members to be actively engaged with FPN through programming, affinity groups, member networks and special initiatives or projects.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and implement member programming and convening, in concert with staff Team FPN, consultants and volunteers leaders, to engage members and partners in learning and action to promote and support effective philanthropy and to advance FPN’s mission and leadership work.
- Design a learning agenda that is both proactive to key issues facing the sector and reactive to emerging trends leading to better outcomes in member education.
- Establish a Body of Knowledge to drive FPN’s future discussions, training, and engagement of other sectors.
The FPN Director of Programs & Member Engagement shall serve as a partner to the President and the entire staff team in designing and implementing efforts to strategically and systematically engage current members.
This includes leading efforts to strengthen member relationships, learning more about member needs, and identifying emerging industry trends – including overseeing the stewardship of current members along with the overall membership recruiting and retention efforts in collaboration with Team FPN.
Leadership and DevelopmentThe FPN Director of Programs & Member Engagement shall be a leader in enhancing the image and positive impact of FPN as a leader in Florida philanthropy.
This includes providing leadership and direction to the development and implementation of special projects as envisioned and/or as assigned, and serving as a positive role model in representation of FPN with members, partners and all other constituencies.
Member Programs & Learning:Evaluation and Assessment
The FPN Director of Programs & Member Engagement shall design and implement rigorous program evaluation and member feedback procedures — for member programs and learning as a whole and for individual program offerings — to determine whether FPN is achieving its program and learning goals.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of five years’ experience in philanthropy, the nonprofit sector, a membership association, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of and direct experience in the field of philanthropy and/or nonprofits and a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing grantmakers and nonprofits today.
- Experience in working with community foundations is preferred.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in adult education, professional development and training, and/or organizational management.
- Understanding and application of the principles of adult learning preferred.
Work is typically performed in an inside, sheltered environment, with some off-site work required when hosting programs outside the FPN office.
Some travel is required, approximately 20%.
Salary and BenefitsThe position will be located in FPN’s main office in Tampa, Florida, with a salary commensurate with experience.
