The Social Media Strategist develops and implements social media strategies on behalf of clients to develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and encourage product/service adoption. In this capacity, the Social Media Strategist coordinates with the Internal Marketing team and client to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.

The core functions of this job include elevating existing social media marketing products, assisting in the creation of new ones, and expanding Mediagistic’s general social media marketing capabilities. As a senior position on the inbound marketing team, the Social Media Strategist is also responsible for helping to train new Social Specialists and engage in ongoing coaching and skills development with the social media marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Management of high-value accounts and social media advertising campaigns.
  • Own all actionable items and tests from monthly Social / Digital Strategist meetup meetings; coordinate social team to measure and quantify tests and act as a primary liaison for the Digital Strategy team when it comes to social media testing initiatives.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.
  • Monthly reporting to inbound marketing manager on performance across all Lead Builder campaigns.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating all new-hire training activities and ongoing peer-to-peer coaching.
  • Lead/plan/coordinate monthly social media think-tanks.
  • Co-piloting Facebook Marketing Partner Relationship.
  • Create social spend plans, custom strategy breakdowns, and advertising flight schedules for custom clients. Work with Inbound Marketing manager to provide paid social estimations and estimated deliverables for custom campaigns, Power Buys, and social advertising only clients.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Strategy team on custom proposals and to determine custom audiences for new verticals and campaign objectives.
  • Work with Inbound Marketing Manager to present strategies and capabilities to clients and internal teams.
  • Work with Inbound Marketing manager to develop and document SOPs for new products, verticals, procedures, etc.
  • Assist Inbound Marketing Manager in managing and implementing large group-buy campaigns, IDP campaigns, and major social advertising only campaigns.
  • Coordinate training activities and training materials for new social team hires.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools and applications. Actively researching and documenting new features, ad units, and platforms as they emerge. Coordinate with Inbound Marketing Manager, Digital Strategy team and Leadership.
  • Work cross functionally with all teams to successfully execute client campaigns and provide strategic growth opportunities.
  • Implement and maintain a presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Instagram, Pinterest, Linked In etc.
  • Implement social media strategy, coordinating with the Internet Marketing and Sales & Service teams across the company to ensure effectiveness.
  • Work with the production team to ensure social media tools (for ex. Facebook Connect, Sharing buttons, RSS feeds) are kept up-to-date.
  • Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities; duties include creating editorial calendars, producing engaging photos and content for posts, scheduling posts, audience building, running social media advertising campaigns, managing comments/messages/mentions across multiple channels, interacting with industry leaders, sharing relevant content to increase engagement.
  • Create and edit videos for You Tube and other social media platforms.
  • Advocate for clients in social media spaces through social listening, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Drive relevant traffic to the clients website through content repurposing (blogs, articles, videos, slide shares, infographics, etc) and track performance of campaigns using UTM codes.
  • Regularly provide insights gained from social media monitoring to internal team members.
  • Support team members regarding client needs and recommendations.
Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Pinterest, You Tube, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • 2‑3 years of experience running ads in the Facebook Business Manager advertising platform.
  • Intermediate knowledge of setting up Facebook Pixels / Conversion API integrations and configuring website conversion events.
  • Candidates with knowledge of Google Tag Manager, the Facebook Aggregated Event Management (AEM) tool and Business Manager domain verification will receive strong consideration.
  • Excellent technical skills related to social media platforms and tools and ability to learn new tools quickly.
