Overview of the United Soccer League (USL)The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues:
Gainbridge Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Authentic, vital, and exciting, the USL is dedicated to providing an inclusive and memorable soccer experience for players, fans, and communities across our growing "soccer nation."

Position PurposeThe Club Performance Analyst is the production engine behind the USL’s Club Performance Group (CPG) insights. This role owns the pulling, cleaning, structuring, and presentation of the data that drives sponsorship, ticketing, and fan engagement strategies across the league.

You’ll transform raw information into clean, accurate, and actionable outputs that CPG leadership and club executives rely on to make faster, better-informed business decisions. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-obsessed, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in producing work that directly influences the growth of the league and its clubs.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesSpecific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the gathering, cleaning, and structuring of data from multiple sources (Tableau, Vision Insights, CRM/CDP, club reports) to create accurate, executive-ready outputs.
  • Produce key deliverables such as Category Valuation Tables, Kit Strategy asset valuations, and audience analysis reports.
  • Translate complex, raw data into clear summaries and visualizations that club executives can act on immediately.
  • Build, maintain, and refine dashboards and reporting tools (Tableau, CRM, CDP) to improve speed, accuracy, and reusability.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue data and KPIs across partnerships, ticketing, marketing, and fan engagement to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Provide CPG leadership with timely, high-quality reporting to support strategic presentations and club consultations.
  • Conduct competitor and industry benchmarking to help clubs position themselves for growth.
  • Maintain and update data analytics tools, databases, and reporting systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain automated processes to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround times.
  • Support the design and execution of surveys and research projects to gather fan feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent data sharing and integration.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a data analysis or business operations role, preferably in sports, entertainment, or live events.
  • Previous experience building dashboards (Tableau) and presentation decks.
  • Technological aptitude: an ability to troubleshoot and learn complex systems to solve problems and questions.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, self-confidence, professionalism, resourcefulness, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with the language of sports business — corporate partnerships, activation, ticketing, and marketing.
  • Proven track record of managing high-volume, detail-heavy work under tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Ability to tell a simple story from complex data and relate it to revenue generation.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions regarding the presentation of data to inform business decisions.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic are a must.
