Outside Machinist - Shipyard 1st and 2nd Shift

• Must have hand tool, employer does not provide hand tools

• Shipyard experience is preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration
• 3 years of machining experience

As an Outside Machinist, you are responsible for the assembly, installation, modification, and repair of various surface ship machinery and systems. You set up, service, repair, align, and test machines that operate on a mechanical and electro‑mechanical basis. Skilled with precision measuring tools such as dial calipers, micrometers, and stack height gauges, you perform all machining tasks with exactness. After evaluating procedures, you recommend changes related to the efficiency of setup and production.

You perform overhauls on and rebuild diesel, gas, and air compressors. You disassemble, reassemble, and test towing winch components, mooring winches, capstans, and anchor windlasses as well as hydraulic and mechanical cranes. Additionally, you remove and reinstall generators. You also perform all types of alignments on components such as gearboxes and engine shafts. You are part of ensuring that marine vessels operate smoothly and safely.

Full Time position; 40+ hours per week;
The 1st shift typically runs from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM and the 2nd shift from4:30 PM to 1:00 AM;
Evenings and weekends are required when needed;

$19.31 to $26.77 per hour;
Depends on experience;
