Assemble machined and bought parts; install flight simulator assemblies such as control linkages, throttle alignment, consoles, cabinets, fuselage components, and electrical/hydraulic systems. Prepare bays for arrivals, assemble computer flooring, assist with off‑load, house installs, hardware/software integration, teardown, packaging, shipping, and site installation. Support trainer modification, upgrades, and relocation domestic and overseas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read work orders, diagrams, parts lists and follow verbal instructions.
- Measure parts to meet specified tolerances.
- Read precision measuring equipment and blueprints to fabricate complex assemblies.
- Fabricate parts from raw materials; drill, tap, ream, countersink, spot‑face bolt holes.
- Position, align, bolt, screw and rivet parts together to close tolerances.
- Disassemble and replace parts as required.
- Clean and lubricate parts and assemblies; mark identifying information.
- Assign toolbox inventory and sign inventory sheet; assist in tool room inventory.
- Assist in simulator teardown and packing of components for shipment.
- High school diploma or general education degree.
- FAA A&P license (airframe) preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of aircraft structural repair or flight simulator assembly experience.
- Eligibility for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
- Ability to read, comprehend, write simple instructions, and present information clearly.
- licham ability in basic arithmetic, percentages, area, circumference, volume, algebra and geometry.
- Proficient with electrical and mechanical hand tools; use calipers, micrometers, pneumatic drills, rivet guns, and shop equipment.
- Sound understanding of military and commercial workmanship standards.
- Willingness to assume assignments away from facility, including site installations and rotating shifts.
- Work from parts lists, drawings, schematics, orders, logs, CAE workmanship standards, and manufacturing procedures.
- Basic computer skills for time reporting and work order processing.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Operate a forklift.
- Operate a scissor lift.
Comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies. Mark and handle all information properly. Do not disclose information to unauthorized personnel. All government and proprietary data stored electronically on company‑provided resources.
EligibilityDue to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Physical Demands- Humid or wet conditions (non‑weather) 1/3 to none of the time.
- Work near moving mechanical parts over 2/3 of the time.
- Work in delanter places.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, outdoor weather, and electrical shock (1/3 to none of the time).
- Noise level loud (manufacturing area).
- Manual dexterity, excellent hand‑eye coordination, and ability to stand or sit for long periods.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel over 2/3 of the time; reach with hands and arms over 2/3 of the time; climb or balance on safety ladder; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for long periods.
- Talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Lift to 50 pounds.
- Antar vision: close vision at 20 inches or less; distance vision at 20 feet or more; color vision.
- Ability to adjust focus.
- Willingness to work overtime and in short/long shifts.
- Adapt to moderate to high levels of stress.
