Position Overview

As a Material Handler, you are a member of an assigned production crew, reporting to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. You will contribute to Ball’s success by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility. The Tampa plant is a high-volume, fast-paced, 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Crews work 4 days on/4 days off, rotating from days to nights every 4 weeks (6a-6p/6p-6a).

• Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including, but not limited to, food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.
• Operate forklift and coordinate products including raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
• Effectively communicate with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.
• Inspect aluminum for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
• Build positive relationships across the designated team by effectively collaborating and communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.

• 3 or more years of operation and maintenance of forklifts.
• Working knowledge of proper hazardous waste management.
• Experience using JD Edwards, AS/400 (AS900) or similar warehouse or ERP system.

• May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to:
• Hot/Cold working conditions.
• Loud/Noisy environment.
• Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
• Climbing stairs, catwalks, and other equipment as necessary.

• Starting Hourly Rate: $27.37 (salary determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data).
