Crane Operator

Position: Crane Operator 1
Job Summary

Infra-Metals, a leading distributor of metal products and value-added processing services, is seeking a reliable and experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join our Tampa team!

In this role, you will:

* Load, unload, and move inventory using an overhead crane or other material-handling equipment

* Follow work orders and supervisor instructions to ensure safe and efficient operations

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

* Operate an overhead crane to lift, move, position, and reposition steel materials to designated stock areas.

* Load and unload trailers, railroad cars, and/or barges.

* Log and report inventory location changes in the inventory system or on paperwork according to company procedures.

* Tag and record received inventory following specified procedures.

* Assemble customer orders based on work orders.

* Record material information on work orders, inventory, or other required forms.

* Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.

* Coordinate with multiple warehouse areas and coworkers to complete tasks.

* Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.

* Always remain safety-sensitive and aware of personal and coworker safety.

* Show initiative by proactively seeking out work and completing tasks without prompting.

* Demonstrate a positive attitude and contribute as an enthusiastic team player.

* Support a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

* Maintain dependable and consistent attendance and punctuality.

* Work overtime and weekends assigned based on business needs.

* Perform warehouse or other tasks to support the team during staff absences or backlogs.

* Complete special projects assigned by management.

Required Skills

* Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write clearly

* Crane operation, material handling, or steel industry experience is a plus but not required

* Candidates with no experience are encouraged to apply - on-the-job training is provided
