The Field Service department seeks a highly motivated Technician to provide quality service and repair of complex MX‑Series airborne surveillance turrets. The technician may also be required to deploy internationally to remote locations around the world, including hazardous conflict regions, to support customers’ mission‑critical equipment.
Essential Functions- Repair, test, and maintain Wescam sensor systems in accordance with established processes and customer deadlines.
- Become proficient in troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of Wescam MX sensor systems within 90 days of hire.
- Apply knowledge of electronics and mechanical systems, customer service, and teamwork to support U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD customers.
- Provide technical documentation, service reports, and operator training on MX operations.
- Assist colleagues in areas of expertise and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Work within defined boundaries and procedures, identifying problems and applying creative solutions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or associate’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an electro‑mechanical technician on complex imaging products, with a track record of career growth and field/service experience.
- 4+ years of experience with electronic and mechanical test equipment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft‑integrated systems to line‑replaceable unit level.
- Experience performing repair assignments on both continental U.S. (CONUS) and overseas (OCONUS) sites; military experience is valued.
- Availability for occasional off‑hours or weekend tasks and willingness to support OCONUS deployments.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in temperatures up to 120 °F, travel internationally, and operate in extreme environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Secret clearance or higher and connections to Special Operations, AFSOC, or related fields.
- Experience with aircraft, tower, or aerostat‑based MX sensor systems.
- Familiarity with government contracting and the procurement process.
- Previous success working independently, prioritizing multiple projects, and maintaining meticulous organizational skills.
- Time standing, bending, twisting, and kneeling while assembling components.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and using hand tools, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Travel overseas up to 20 % of the time; up to 84 hrs/week in OCONUS locations.
- Work onsite at customer sites, flight lines, hangars, test facilities, or manufacturing environments.
- Fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment requiring accurate problem resolution.
Salary range: $53,000 – $98,000 (subject to experience and location). Benefits include health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company‑paid holidays.
