Job Summary:
The Production Director is responsible for managing and directing the production of apparel from design approval to finished product. This includes overseeing manufacturing processes, managing production and development teams, ensuring quality control, and optimizing the production timeline and cost. The role is to ensure all products meet brand standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end production processes, including sourcing, manufacturing, quality control, and on-time delivery.
- Supervise and mentor the production & development teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
- Continuously evaluate and improve production workflows to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and meet demand.
- Manage and implement QA/QC divisions and processes and monitor rigorous quality control standards to ensure all products meet Odd Sox’s comfort and design criteria.
- Develop and oversee production budgets, ensuring all projects stay on target without compromising quality.
- Work closely with design, marketing, and sales teams to align production schedules with new product launches and campaigns.
- Ensure all production activities meet environmental, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- WFX Implementation for full department alignment.
- Create Product Development division with full integration of Production department.
- Build our R&D Division for yarn options, foot forms etc.
- Offensively build out vendor excellence with white glove communication with licensors, and factory partners.
- Alignment on pricing, sourcing, development and leadership.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Expertise in supply chain management and vendor negotiations.
- Proficiency in production software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
- Analytical mindset with the ability to forecast and solve problems proactively.
- Passion for creativity and innovation.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in production/development management, preferably in apparel or accessories.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
