Overview

AEVEX Aerospace is seeking a Senior Program Manager to manage the modification of aircraft with enhanced special mission capabilities to support unique DoD and commercial customer requirements. Capabilities include advanced ISR sensors, communications and datalink technologies, and aircraft platform enhancements to support multisession objectives. This role oversees all aspects of a project, from planning and design to execution and delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise across operations including operational, engineering, maintenance, system test and technical management disciplines for assigned programs.
  • Collaborate with customers to determine project requirements, develop a work plan, and execute the work.
  • Act as the hiring manager for assigned programs; supervise screening, selection, and hiring of candidates.
  • Ensure projects/programs are executed to the highest level of safety and compliance.
  • Maintain professional standards and align with AEVEX culture.
  • Communicate expectations and develop strategies to enhance organizational capabilities that support priorities and requirements.
  • Advise senior executives on programs, policies, and functions including operations, readiness, training, recruiting, and management of technical staff.
  • Cultivate relationships with peers, subordinates, and customers while providing leadership and technical guidance for strategic and operational planning.
  • Lead with agility, build professional relationships with senior executives and peers, and drive organizational success.
  • Facilitate alignment and achievement of strategy objectives and performance goals across the company.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned programs including costs, schedules, and performance.
  • Integrate industry best practices and meet or exceed program financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Growth Team to identify future opportunities and support capture and solutioning for new and ongoing efforts.
  • Develop processes to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle.
  • Assist the Growth Team as subject matter expert in developing technical solutions during proposals; may manage a team of SMEs for technical volumes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally, positively representing the organization.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis and exhibit professional behavior with internal and external partners.
  • Align daily actions with department goals and company culture.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Project
  • Experience developing and managing an integrated master schedule (IMS) for assigned programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interface with customers and technical professionals at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess technical and programmatic issues
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; manage tasks, scope changes, and schedules to stay on track
  • Self-starter with solid judgment; able to think and act independently with limited oversight
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and with a strong work ethic
  • Experience leading teams to execute projects on-time and within budget, delivering high customer satisfaction
  • Experience working with subcontractors and vendors, developing statements of work, negotiating terms, and managing performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and passion for teamwork
  • Provides expert knowledge in day-to-day department function
