Our ideal Program Manager will be a person that embraces that excellence is a process, a skill to be developed. This person must have a passion for staff and self‑development. This person should have a passion for Substance Use Disorder Intervention and have an understanding of DUI Laws. A person with extensive experience in Florida DUI Programs, with at least 2 years of a supervisory role in the same is very desirable.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in DUI Program Management. Familiarity with Florida DUI Programs and at least 5 years of experience in managing a company that provides services that are regulated by Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles may substitute for the 2 years of supervisory experience in DUI Program management.

Persons with direct supervision and/or program management of a corporation that is devoted to DUI Intervention and/or comparable programs outside the state of Florida will be considered. A CAP or equivalent is also preferred.

It is also greatly preferred that the candidate meets the requirements to be a certified DUI evaluator, SSS Evaluator, and/or DUI Instructor, and is required to have minimally a bachelor's degree in behavioral health, with at least 2 years of direct services to persons with substance use disorders.

This is a responsible management position which involves supervision of administrative and professional staff members (including certified Evaluators, Special Supervision Evaluators, Instructors and Clinical Supervisors). Such supervision involves both work‑related performance and clinical supervision of client files. The DUI Program Director is expected to adhere to the Ethical Principles of Psychologists as adopted by the APA.

Training And Experience
  • Possess a master's degree from an accredited institution in Human Services and four thousand (4,000) hours of experience in the substance abuse field or a bachelor’s degree and ten thousand (10,000) hours of experience in the substance abuse field. At least two thousand (2,000) hours of the experience must be as a certified DUI evaluator in a Florida DUI program.
  • Must be certified as a DUI Evaluator, Special Supervision Services Evaluator, Instructor and Clinical Supervisor.
  • The Program Director shall complete a DHSMV approved Clinical Supervision pre‑service training.
  • The Program Director shall complete a minimum of 12 hours of DHSMV approved re‑certification training biennially to maintain certification. In addition, the Clinical Director must complete the required training hours to maintain DUI Evaluator, Instructor, Special Supervision Services Evaluator and Clinical Supervisor certification.
  • Individuals holding certification by the DHSMV Bureau of Motorist Compliance will be considered qualified.
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with a variety of organizations including the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the Florida Association of DUI Programs, MADD, treatment providers, and other agencies involved with the DUI process.
  • A thorough understanding of the Florida DUI system including applicable statutes and the administrative functioning of the Bureau of Motorist Compliance.
  • A working knowledge of substance abuse and addiction as well as areas of knowledge pertaining to such issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to create and maintain record‑keeping systems; and, as such, have proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to provide supervisory direction to all staff.
  • Ability to deal with individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information in strict confidence.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the day‑to‑day functioning of the DUI program including supervising both administrative and clinical staff.
