MOT Supervisor – AWP Safety

Job DescriptionThe MOT Supervisor collaborates with the Facility Manager, Project Managers, and local MOT team to support core values and mission. Responsibilities include reviewing and executing temporary traffic control plans, ensuring work zones are properly installed and maintained, coordinating with customers, and managing on‑site personnel.
Responsibilities- Set up and maintain channelizing devices and other traffic control equipment according to federal, state, and local guidelines and temporary traffic control plans for complex work zones.
- Coordinate and communicate work activity for on‑site MOT personnel, including protectors (flaggers), TMA drivers, and pilot car operators, providing breaks and overall management of work zone operations.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers while maintaining a professional approach to meet their expectations.
- Drive company vehicles to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites in a safe, efficient, and timely manner; may also be required to pull lightweight trailered equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and practices and notify their supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents.
- Provide on‑job training, coaching, and mentoring to protectors (flaggers) and complete all MOT‑required training within the timeframe established by the Facility Manager.
- Complete all required project documentation, including pre‑job safety briefings, daily ticket control logs, traffic inspections, vehicle inspections, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- FDOT Advanced Temporary Traffic Control certification.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License void of suspension or revocation.
- Open availability.
- Ability to stand 8–12 hours and lift 80 lbs repetitively using proper techniques.
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to follow safe work practices and company safety guidelines.
- Competency in working around high‑volume, fast‑moving traffic.
- Hours of operation may vary based on staffing needs and workload.
- Typical work week 50 hours.
- Majority of time will be in the field.
- Position may involve outside conditions, including inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, dust, asphalt, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Noise levels can be loud.
- Position may lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds; may also involve pushing, pulling, or carrying objects under adverse field conditions and long periods of standing.
- Competitive pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour based on experience with overtime opportunities; guaranteed pay increase within the first year.
- Rapid advancement:
Potential to progress to Senior Protector in just 4 months, with further growth to Lead Protector, Field Supervisor, or Manager roles. - Comprehensive training:
