Description

Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on serving upper‑middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms. The firm helps improve operating results at portfolio companies ranging from $50 million to $1 billion+. Our PEPI services include CDD/Strategy, Interim Management, Merger Integration & Carve‑outs, IT, Rapid Results, Supply Chain and CFO Services.

This opportunity allows you to develop a broad range of operational skills and engage early with clients in the lifecycle of high‑profile deals. The MI&C service line offers structured, disciplined value creation for corporate and equity buyers across deals, joint ventures and alliances.

The team works across the full spectrum of the deal lifecycle – from pre‑deal operational and synergy reviews to "Day 1" planning and post‑deal implementation. Services include due diligence (commercial, operational), Integration Management Office, synergies, TSA, integration planning, Day 1 readiness and post‑close execution.

MI&C is a growing business offering excellent career advancement and leadership skill development, with exposure to international assignments.

Manager Responsibilities
  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs and supplementing assessment techniques with innovative approaches.
  • Develop and validate analyses and recommend solutions within the overall engagement context.
  • Lead work streams or a focus area within the Integration Management Office (IMO) – such as Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness, Executive Reporting, Integration Roadmap, Communications, Organizational Design.
  • Execute Day 1 and Day 100 planning, driving performance improvement in areas including strategic planning, operational optimization, back‑office consolidation, supply chain, IT / reporting integration, customer and channel management.
  • Drive performance improvement assessments, oversee implementation of recommendations, track progress, and adjust integration strategies or personnel as required.
Qualifications
  • 5–8+ years of professional consulting experience specializing in merger integration, business transformation, and change management.
  • Experience in integration planning and divestitures is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lead one or more work streams in a business transformation.
  • Deep functional expertise in one or more of:
    • Finance & Accounting operations
    • HR / Organizational design
    • Role and job analysis
    • Leadership and stakeholder involvement
    • Communications planning and management
    • Supply chain / operations
    • Salesforce effectiveness
    • Marketing optimization
    • Pricing/margin/mix optimization
    • Knowledge management and transfer
    • Program management and leadership experience
    • Designing and executing change and communications strategies
  • MBA preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, initiative, critical thinking, and flexibility to travel at least 75% of the time.

Benefits Summary

Full‑time positions are entitled to A&M Holdings fringe benefits including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D and disability coverages, a 401(k) plan with discretionary employer contributions, and paid time off (vacation, personal days, 72 hours of sick time, ten federal holidays, one floating holiday and parental leave). Eligibility for benefits depends on the role and tenure.

Salary range: $125,000 – $190,000 annually, variable based on education, experience, skills and geography. A discretionary bonus program is also available.
