We are looking for an Accounting Manager who will oversee the financial operations that support our fast-paced last-mile delivery network, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and operational alignment across all accounting activities. This role manages the daily workflow of the accounting team, including general ledger oversight, month-end close, billing, cost analysis, and reconciliation tied to delivery operations, contractor payments, and hub financial performance.

The Accounting Manager will implement and refine processes to improve financial controls, support operational leaders with timely data, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with at least 5 years of management experience, deep accounting expertise, strong leadership skills, and experience supporting fast-paced, high-volume logistics environments. In addition, this person will partner cross-functionally to drive efficiency, cost accuracy, and continuous improvement across the team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, ensuring high standards of accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL management, and month-end close activities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Controller, providing oversight on financial processes and recommending improvements.
  • Manage the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, expense accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Strengthen and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and reduce risk.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead or support internal and external audit activities.
  • Evaluate current accounting and operational workflows to identify gaps and implement more efficient processes.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual work and increase data accuracy.
  • Work closely with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Provide clear financial insights to Leadership to support decision making.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for all accounting impacts related to last-mile operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a management or senior-level role.
  • Experience in last-mile delivery, logistics, transportation, or high-volume operations beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and strong financial reporting skills.
  • Proven experience managing complex close cycles and leading accounting teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into operational insight.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (Business Central, Corpay).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting
  • Prior experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment
