Summary

The Healthcare Restoration Technician is responsible for performing skilled restoration, mitigation, and repair work within active, occupied healthcare environments, including hospitals, medical office buildings, and clinical facilities. This role requires strict adherence to infection control standards, safety protocols, and hospital‑specific requirements while performing restoration activities resulting from water, fire, mold, or other damage. The technician must maintain a high level of professionalism and situational awareness to ensure patient safety, regulatory compliance, and minimal disruption to healthcare operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform water, fire, mold, and specialty restoration services within healthcare facilities.
  • Execute mitigation activities including demolition, moisture mapping, controlled drying, and selective material removal.
  • Perform restoration‑related repairs including drywall, framing, ceilings, flooring, and finish work as required.
  • Follow Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) procedures and hospital‑specific protocols.
  • Set up and maintain proper containment systems, negative air machines, HEPA filtration, and dust control barriers.
  • Maintain clean and controlled work areas suitable for occupied clinical environments.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and site‑specific safety plans.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Properly use and maintain PPE and equipment required for healthcare environments.
  • Inspect, operate, and maintain restoration equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, negative air machines, and monitoring tools.
  • Assist with documentation including moisture readings, equipment logs, and daily work summaries as required.
  • Support compliance with hospital credentialing, access control, and site documentation requirements.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, and hospital staff to coordinate restoration activities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and respect when working in sensitive patient care environments.
  • Respond to changes in schedule, scope, or access requirements typical in healthcare settings.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work a flexible on‑call schedule
  • Ability to execute quality control/assurance
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal code requirements
  • Knowledge of inspection requirements
  • IICRC certifications: WRT, ASD, Fire, Mold (preferred)
  • Knowledge of IICRC/ANSI S500 and S520 Standards
  • Familiarity with ICRA standards and infection control practices, containment, negative air, and HEPA filtration systems, water damage mitigation and controlled demolition
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and hospital onboarding requirements
  • Must be willing to travel and respond to 24/7 emergency demands
  • Able to complete a DOT Medical Exam and receive a DOT Medical Card
  • Safely operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (non‑CDL box truck up to 26’)
  • Provide excellent customer service
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of restoration or construction experience, with preference for healthcare, hospital, or occupied commercial projects.
  • Experience working in regulated, occupied environments (healthcare strongly preferred).
