Job Summary

If you are a team player who enjoys history and working with your hands, we invite you to apply for this seasonal Maintenance Assistant position at Cracker Country, the living history museum at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Cracker Country is a 4‑acre attraction that features historic buildings, gardens, and grounds that showcase a rural Florida community at the turn of the 20th century.
Key ResponsibilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in basic maintenance and/or carpentry is preferred. Must be able to use basic measurement tools and power tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule
- Ability to work cooperatively with museum staff and volunteers
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
Duties are performed primarily outside of an office setting. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and lift or move (more than 20 pounds). Environmental and other exposures include wet/humid conditions, work near mechanical parts, work in high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.
Salaryand Work Details
Pay: $15.00 per hour, temporary position, 1 vacancy.
