Busy Plaintiff Personal Injury Practice seeks an Litigation Paralegal to join our team!

We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our team. As a Litigation Paralegal you must be highly organized and able to work on a varied caseload. The Litigation Paralegal will assist their "TEAM" Attorney in developing case discovery, preparing documents and correspondence as needed. The ideal candidate is customer focused and empathetic.

Responsibilities
  • Daily interaction with existing clients, via telephone and in client portal through "CMS" case management system.
  • Order updated medical records from providers and maintain communication with medical treatment providers during the course of litigation.
  • Interact health insurance providers and healthcare treatment providers to secure clients account balances.
  • Negotiate reductions on health insurance liens and reductions on clients outstanding medical care and treatment balances with providers upon reaching a settlement.
  • Work directly with multiple coworkers involved in the management and support of case files
  • Maintain organized electronic case files in the "CMS" (case management system)
  • Prepare comprehensive responses to discovery and assemble supporting records and documents for submission to carriers/opposing counsel.
  • Interact with attorneys and present case synopsis when required.
  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda
  • E-file all court documents in state and federal court
  • Communicate with clients, courts, counsel, and others
  • Draft and serve summons
  • Coordinate and summarize depositions
  • Prepare trial binders and exhibits
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents to file with the court
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Help with witness preparation
Qualifications
  • Experience in Personal Injury, Premises, First Party, Third Party, Medical Malpractice or other injury related practice areas (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of working experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
  • Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail
