The Tampa office of Squire Patton Boggs, a global law firm, is seeking a Paralegal for our dynamic, team-oriented Real Estate practice.

Our team provides comprehensive, results-driven legal services to guide clients through all aspects of commercial real estate activity.

Primary responsibilities
  • Drafting real estate documents, including deeds, easements, leases, assignments, affidavits, closing statements, and financing statements;
  • Preparing initial drafts of leases and lease abstracts;
  • Reviewing title, survey and plats and preparing title review memos and objection letters;
  • Ordering, reviewing and summarizing UCC and litigation searches and zoning reports;
  • Creating and monitoring transaction timelines and checklists;
  • Preparation of closing checklists;
  • Keeping multiple transactions on schedule for closing; and
  • Creating entities and filing entity documents.
Academic and professional requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent work experience
  • At least 3 years’ of real estate, real estate lending, title and survey review, contract review, and general transactional experience
  • Superior technical skills: be able to prepare documents in Microsoft Word including editing and redlines, working with “Styles” and working knowledge of Excel
  • Illustrates excellent client-relationship skills; strong verbal and written communication abilities, proofreading, grammar, and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with attention to detail; work with teams and under pressure; and meet deadlines
  • Motivated, organized, self-starter who is ready to assume responsibility on challenging matters and a desire to grow and develop
  • Experience working in a large corporate setting, law firm, or title company preferred
