Summary

The Server Administrator II participates in all aspects of design, analysis, implementation and support of systems, software or other solutions for Enterprise Information Technology and acts as contributing members for all assigned projects.

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the maintenance, monitoring, reporting, and support of operating systems, applications, and services.
  • Perform routine problem analysis and resolution design for systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Shell scripting.
  • Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including hardware and software, communication, network, and peripheral equipment problems; make repairs and corrections where required in accordance with SLA guidelines.
  • Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure the change management processes are met and followed.
  • Participate in design, planning, installation, and support of computer systems, network hardware, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP network fundamentals and related equipment.
  • Understanding of Windows Server technologies (2019 and 2022 preferred).
  • Provides support for cloud-based infrastructure components (i.e., VM Instance based Linux or Windows Servers).
  • Conduct monitoring of utilization, performance, and availability of system components & services.
  • Conduct log analysis and patch management to ensure high system integrity and security.
  • Effectively use Help Desk ticketing system for incident and problem management, customer interaction and follow-up.
  • Create and maintain System Configuration documentation.
  • Maintain reports regarding system downtime, plans for preventative maintenance, and disaster recovery.
  • Active contribution towards Cross-Training initiative for Tier II Platforms.
  • Assist with management of Active Directory, Group Policies, Users and Computers.
  • Properly prioritize, coordinate, and elevate unresolved issues or emergencies to other support tiers/teams in accordance with Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
  • Coordinate with end‑users, management and other systems departments.
  • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long‑term strategic goals for systems and software.
  • On‑call for production system support.
  • Provide shift‑based continuous monitoring of network and storage performance providing Tier 2 & 3 support for a global network infrastructure.
  • Assist the network team.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • BS degree in computer related curriculum and 4+ years network and operating system experience, or AA degree and 6 years’ experience in network and operating system design, test and maintenance or equivalent related experience.
  • Experience supporting client issues with Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) Platforms and Federation Services (ADFS, SAML, Duo, Microsoft Auth etc.).
  • Experience deploying production systems in the cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.).
