Sr. Report Developer

Overview:
Scope of work has not changed since last conversation. Still tracking ~300 reports needing migration, SSIS packages reworked into Snowflake, timeline March 2026.

• Data movements will stay in SQL for the most part, some Python conversion of reporting tasks that will require zipping/encryption of files locally stored. 1 resource with Python will be sufficient on team, nice to have for remaining.
• 1 resource needs to have stronger core Snowflake platform experience. Warehousing concepts, optimization. Should have deep understanding of SnowSQL, tasks, streams, stored procedures. How warehouses work, how they are optimized for reporting capabilities.
• All of our current resources on this team (2 Sr, 2 Mid): strong SQL, T-SQL, data modeling, stored procedures, ETL processes, Snowflake. Needs Snowflake from the perspective of writing data transformation processes that will align with Snowflake fact and dimensions, slowly-changing dimensions, etc. ETL for Snowflake data warehousing (vs Snowflake platform).
• Candidates should have strong communication, capable of gathering requirements, collaborating with the business, documentation.
• Python will no longer replace SSIS packages, all in SQL, but Python will be used to triage files.
• Gitlab experience would be highly desirable--using Gitlab to post code, move through Dev, Test, Prod environments. No one on the team currently has this experience.
• Not leveraging Snowpipes at this point--will evaluate for real-time data once Snowflake releases their version of Kafka but tbd. Planning to do all of this in Control M
• AWS is nice to have but not a hard requirement at this point, APIs running through Lambdas, Kubernetes/Python running adjacent to AWS, separate team is owning that build and management of infrastructure, tokens, etc.
