Database Administrator, Data Engineer
CTG is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise databases for our client. This is a hands‑on role supporting both production and non‑production environments.
Location: Tampa, FL
Duration: 12 months
What You’ll Do- Maintain daily database operations with minimal supervision.
- Perform upgrades, patching, backups, restores, and monitor health.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of databases.
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams.
- Follow security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Strong experience with Oracle, Postgre
SQL, MySQL, SQL Server. - No
SQL experience (Mongo
DB, Cassandra) is a plus. - Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices.
- Cloud or hybrid database environment experience preferred.
- Database tuning, troubleshooting, and basic scripting/automation skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and independent work abilities.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Proven track record managing enterprise databases and supporting transformation initiatives.
- Work in a dynamic environment with diverse teams.
- Gain hands‑on experience across operational and strategic database projects.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
