Machine Learning Engineer - Mid

Overview

As an ML Engineer on our AI-enabled team, you will train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data. You will own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies, collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, and product owners to deliver solutions to DoD and Federal clients.

You will work with clients to understand their questions and needs, dig into data-rich environments, guide teammates, and lead the development of algorithms and systems that turn data into objective answers to help clients make informed decisions. This role involves applying ML techniques to support DoD program offices and provide real-world impact through leadership and data science expertise.

• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, machine learning model development, model validation and serving.
• Optimize machine learning algorithms.
• Contribute to building infrastructure that facilitates end-to-end ML workflows.
• Experience with one or more Deep Learning packages, including Tensor Flow and PyTorch.
• Explore new technologies such as quantum engineering for advanced model development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data processing pipelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with teams to accomplish objectives and deliver excellence.

• Top Secret clearance required (can be sponsored).
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• 4+ years with natural language processing (NLP) topics, including tagging, syntactic parsing, word sense disambiguation, topic modeling, contextual text mining, or application of deep learning to NLP.
• Strong background in a modern programming language (e.g., Python or Java) and numerical/analytics packages (Num Py, Pandas);
  Git;
  PyTorch or Tensor Flow; CI/CD pipelines and regression testing.
• Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and collaborate with multiple functional groups.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

• Recent DoD or IC-related experience.
• Experience building distributed deep learning libraries or scaling large distributed deep learning workflows using PyTorch (or similar).
• Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
• Experience with large-scale AI/ML infrastructure and AWS ML tools such as Sage Maker.
• Experience with data discovery tools such as AWS Glue Crawler, Apache Atlas, Datahub, or Collibra.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
