As a one-person department, you will manage, develop, and continuously improve every aspect of our ERP software (EPICS) – from daily administration and reporting to long-term planning, integration, and cross-plant standardization.

This is an on-site position based in an office and plant-floor environment and will require regular interaction with manufacturing operations across four MI Metals facilities.

Key Responsibilities Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Empower users to work with EPICS data through familiar tools like Excel, Microsoft Access, or other third-party software.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Create automated alerts, dashboards, and tools to drive better operational decision-making.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and secure delivery of all recurring and ad hoc reports.
  • Write, maintain, and document standard and ad hoc reports to support operations, leadership, and compliance needs.
Data Governance and Optimization
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards to improve accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor and clean data across systems; proactively identify issues and opportunities.
  • Recommend and implement relevant EPICS modules based on evolving operational needs.
Systems Integration and Development
  • Integrate EPICS with other business systems to enable seamless data transfer and process automation.
  • Build internal tools and enhancements on top of EPICS to support operations and reduce manual work.
  • Create and maintain EDI processes to improve automation and communication across systems.
  • Track, document, and perform scheduled maintenance and system refinements.
System Administration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all EPICS-related support, updates, and enhancements.
  • Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions within the EPICS system.
  • Oversee system configuration, implement updates, and maintain a long-term upgrade roadmap.
  • Ensure consistent usage and best practices across all facilities.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and maintain a prioritized list of improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage EPICS’ client/server design and RDMS structure to maximize data accessibility and transparency across the business.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data from ERP system for reporting and decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to translate non-technical feedback into meaningful system solutions.
  • Self-directed, highly accountable, and comfortable operating as a one-person department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, professional reports.
