Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Part‑Time On‑Call Farsi / Iranian Cultural Advisor (CULAD) to provide cultural and linguistic expertise that spans the Department of Defense’s geographical combatant commands (CCMDs) areas of responsibilities to join our Operational Planning, Implementation and Assessment Services (OPIAS) Team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting a large information operations program.

- Provide translation of and cultural perspective on critical communications that spans the Department of Defense’s geographical CCMDs areas of responsibilities
- Communicate directly with information providers within the geographical CCMDs area of responsibilities through telephonic, text, or other virtual means
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop strategies to reach local target audiences and support communications plans
- Specific daily job requirements include the following duties:
- Respond to information providers by using the provider’s-initiated communication method to make initial contact, elicit any required additional information, evaluating, and providing assessments based on multi‑sourced information
- Utilize tools, databases, and websites to collect and analyze information, and maintain proficiency in all tools, software, and databases
- Prepare reports of analysis and make recommendations to Program Leads and senior leaders.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess either a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 6 years; or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must have a minimum of 4/4/4/ scores or higher in testing scores both in English and a 5/5/5/ in FARSI Dialects.
- Experience with collecting data and preparing reports.
- Understanding of the cultural, economic, geopolitical and military issues of the specified region outlined above.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent oral, written and electronic communication in English.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain a final Top Secret clearance and SCI.
- Must be willing to travel 10% CONUS.
Preferred Qualifications for the Arabic Linguist are:
- Recent Iranian Native Cultural Background.
- Served with US Forces in some FARSI linguistics capacity.
- Currently supporting activity in the relative CCMD AOR.

Target Salary Range $104,000 – $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
