As a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Administrator Responsibilities

• Configuration and Optimization
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement effective configurations for boundary infrastructure and network access control solutions.
  • Customize and optimize alert rules, correlation searches, and detection mechanisms.
  • Work with Cybersecurity Engineering team and end users to gather requirements, troubleshoot, and provide support.
  • Integrate cyber tools with legacy data sources.
• Maintenance and Support
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, software updates, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Provide timely support and troubleshooting assistance for IDS/IPS, firewalls, Security Onion, and other boundary technologies.
  • Perform regular system audits and health checks, implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide occasional presentations of tool capabilities to leadership.
• Policy Development and Compliance
  • Develop and enforce configuration standards, security policies, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor compliance through audits, assessments, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to streamline regulatory efforts.
  • Integrate cybersecurity systems with other controls and IT infrastructure.
  • Develop automation scripts, playbooks, and workflows to automate routine tasks.
  • Explore opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
• Training and Knowledge Sharing
  • Provide training sessions and document processes to empower internal teams.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned with colleagues.
Required

Skills and Qualifications
• Education:
  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  Certification: DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification.
• Experience: 5+ years in cybersecurity administration, focusing on configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls.

  • Proficiency in Linux environments, system administration, and shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat landscapes, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Maharizer, IPS / IDS technologies, and tap infrastructure.
  • Experience with packet capture and analysis (Wireshark).

  • Prior CENTCOM/COCOM experience.
  • Strong background in general networking technology.
  • Experience with Next‑Gen Firewalls and IPS.
  • Linux experience.

Compensation

Estimated salary range: $102,000 – $138,000. Salary may vary based on experience, location and contractual terms.
