• Designs server and application architectures; performs administrative operation and maintenance functions of server hardware and software
• Maintains system security and executes common practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs
• Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems.
• Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system

• Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:
• Education:
  
  Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
• Experience:
  
  5+ years of Systems Engineering functions/roles
• Security clearance level: TS/SCI security clearance
• US citizenship required
• Role requirements:
• Has experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, and Mc Afee
• Experience with ICAM, PAM, Zero-trust solutions is a plus
• Exchange, SharePoint, SQL expertise a plus
• Specific knowledge of RHEL, Splunk, Open Shift is a plus

• Must be able to write and evaluate scripts that contribute to overall systems efficiency
• Excellent communication skills:
  Effective listening skills and follow through
• Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
• Can create effective and clear user manuals
• Able to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications
• Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
