Responsibilities- Designs server and application architectures; performs administrative operation and maintenance functions of server hardware and software
- Maintains system security and executes common practices and procedures; monitors usage statistics and logs
- Institutes troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoots system related problems.
- Recommends future direction or projects to management. Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system
- Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:
- Education:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience. - Experience:
5+ years of Systems Engineering functions/roles - Security clearance level: TS/SCI security clearance
- US citizenship required
- Role requirements:
- Has experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, and Mc Afee
- Experience with ICAM, PAM, Zero-trust solutions is a plus
- Exchange, SharePoint, SQL expertise a plus
- Specific knowledge of RHEL, Splunk, Open Shift is a plus

- Must be able to write and evaluate scripts that contribute to overall systems efficiency
- Excellent communication skills:
Effective listening skills and follow through - Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience
- Can create effective and clear user manuals
- Able to review the work of others and detect errors or needed modifications
- Able to identify and resolve problems or inadequacies of systems engineering
The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
