MC Squared is a professional consulting engineering firm specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, Geo‑Environmental, Construction Materials Testing and Inspection, and Pavement Design and Management with offices in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Our clients include DOTs, municipalities, state agencies, and large multinational engineering firms. We are retained to provide innovative solutions to complex subsurface issues to support the design of heavy civil infrastructure projects in the Transportation, Water/Wastewater, Tunneling, Dams, and Aviation sectors, and provide cost‑effective solutions for structures, commercial developments, and educational institutions.
MC Squared has experienced significant year‑over‑year in the last several years and our current in‑house projects and backlog show the trend will continue.
MC Squared is seeking an IT Director to guide us into the next stage from approximately 100 employees to 500 employees and beyond.
Job SummaryWorking from our Tampa office, the Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides an efficient and effective technical support service. Will work a hybrid schedule from the Tampa office.
Duties/Responsibilities- Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and department.
- Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss.
- Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
- Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
- Oversee the security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.
- Facilitates IT security audits or investigations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
- Hands‑on management and configuration of core systems, with the ability to scale the department as we grow.
- Some project and operational related travel (approximately 15% annually).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science is highly desired; a master’s or MBA is preferred. We will consider work experience instead of a degree, if applicable.
- Experience managing an IT department.
- Proficient in SQL Server / Database Administration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the latest technology for IT systems and management.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.

- Experience with Jira/Confluence and Power Shell technologies
