Job DescriptionWe have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology group, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will implement critical technology solutions across multiple domains, support various business functions, and help achieve the firm’s business objectives.
Job Responsibilities- Execute monthly or quarterly deployments, ensuring smooth and efficient implementation of updates and changes.
- Perform Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Service Request (SR) activities to maintain system stability and performance.
- Support daily production issues by conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for core and code‑related problems.
- Collaborate with Operations and other relevant teams to address and resolve breaks in debit or credit processes.
- Understand and troubleshoot code written in Java and the Spring‑Boot framework.
- Utilize AWS services and tools to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Monitor and manage incident queues to ensure timely resolution and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain incident hygiene by ensuring accurate documentation, categorization, and prioritization of incidents.
- Conduct post‑incident reviews to identify improvement opportunities and prevent recurrence.
- Apply database querying skills using SQL to analyze and resolve data‑related issues.
- Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands‑on practical experience in system maintenance, application support, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages, with strong debugging skills.
- Experience in managing deployments and performing RCA in a large corporate environment.
- Knowledge of AWS services and cloud‑based solutions.
- Proficiency in database querying using SQL.
- Exposure to agile methodologies and practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
- Exposure to high‑volume, low‑latency data processing systems.
- Ability to understand the nuances of REST API, MQ, Kafka, Gemfire, Oracle, etc.
- Familiarity with modern front‑end technologies.
- Exposure to cloud technologies.
