Title: Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager
Location: Tampa, FL
Type: Full-time, permanent position with a hybrid work schedule.
Summary:
This role leads a Security Operations Center within a managed services environment, overseeing cybersecurity operations, incident response, and client‑facing security engagement while managing and developing a team of security professionals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 3–5 years of hands‑on cybersecurity experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Prior MSP or IT services experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing SOC or security operations teams
- Proven ability to build and run security programs and lead incident response efforts
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain risk to technical and non‑technical audiences
- Demonstrated client‑facing experience and relationship management
- Experience with budgeting and vendor management
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or audits
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH highly desirable
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of security professionals supporting client environments
- Define and execute security operations strategy aligned with business goals
- Ensure security policies, procedures, and frameworks meet regulatory and industry standards
- Develop and oversee incident response plans and lead investigations during security events
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement security technologies including SIEM, SOAR, SASE, IDS/IPS, and EDR
- Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities
- Partner directly with clients to provide security guidance, manage escalations, and address concerns
- Develop security metrics and reporting for senior leadership and clients
- Promote continuous learning, professional development, and growth within the SOC team
