The Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) Analyst is a technical resource with experience in Distribution Grid Modeling, Distribution Planning, and DMS/OMS functionality. The analyst designs, implements, and supports TECO’s control systems related applications to ensure reliable performance and world‑class customer satisfaction. Duties span all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and involve commissioning hardware and software for ADMS and OMS.
Responsibilities(Senior Systems Analyst)
- Develop complex software based on specifications, collaborating with Business Systems Analysts to produce software specifications.
- Implement software packages with deep configuration and integration, coordinating substantial vendor interaction.
- Integrate applications with complex interfaces as required.
- Provide 24x7 primary or secondary support for niche, core, or mission‑critical applications.
- Support request and analysis phases of SDLC by producing required documentation and estimates; review deliverables from junior staff.
- Execute design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC, producing prescribed deliverables and reviewing work of junior staff.
- Participate on Application Development and Support and project teams; may serve as Technical Lead.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant business areas and technical skills; mentor junior staff and promote standard practices.
- Lead complex software development projects, collaborating with Business Systems Analysts to develop specifications.
- Lead selection and implementation of software packages that require in‑depth configuration and integration, driving extensive vendor interaction.
- Lead application integration with complex interfaces as per specifications.
- Provide 24x7 primary or secondary support for niche, core, or mission‑critical applications, coordinating maintenance activities and release schedules.
- Support request and analysis phases of SDLC with required documentation and estimates; oversee deliverables of junior staff.
- Execute design, development, and implementation phases of SDLC, delivering prescribed deliverables and managing junior staff output.
- Participate as a Technical Lead on projects, overseeing technical staff and managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert across relevant business areas while mentoring and directing junior staff, providing feedback to management.
- Education
:
• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent. Equivalent experience may substitute for the degree.
• Preferred: Additional professional certifications in relevant disciplines. - Licenses/Certifications

• Preferred: One or more relevant professional certifications. - Related Experience
:
• Senior Systems Analyst –
Required:
6 years in systems analysis, design, and development. 4+ additional years of related experience can substitute for the Bachelor's degree.
• Senior Systems Analyst – Preferred: 8 years in systems analysis, design, and development.
• Systems Analyst Consultant –
Required:
10 years in systems analysis, design, and development.
• Systems Analyst Consultant – Preferred: 12 years in systems analysis, design, and development. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA) (Senior):
• Strong knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies; stay current with IT industry trends and apply new technologies.
• Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills; frequent presentations to team and department.
• Ability to understand project plans, articulate role, goals, timelines; develop small project plans and partner on large projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Mentorship and guidance of junior staff.
• Continuous process improvement for SDLC, maintenance, and technology architecture.
