Temporary Senior Associate, Open Shift Engineer
Join KPMG to apply for the Temporary Senior Associate, Open Shift Engineer role. We are looking for a temporary Senior Engineer for a twelve‑month assignment to join our Digital Nexus technology organization.
Responsibilities- Provide expert‑level technical support to application teams using the Open Shift platform; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Open Shift virtualization or other virtualization platforms.
- Work closely with application teams to understand their requirements and provide guidance and recommendations to optimize their Open Shift deployment.
- Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends.
- Collaborate with operations and middleware teams to ensure timely resolution of issues; participate in on‑call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including knowledge‑base articles and best practices; contribute to automation tools and scripts to improve support processes.
- Mentor and train other support engineers to improve their technical skills and knowledge of Open Shift.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment.
- Minimum three years of recent experience managing medium‑to‑large container platforms (including rollout, automation, and scaling) and providing technical support for enterprise applications.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. - Practical experience with Open Shift (installation, configuration, troubleshooting) and a solid understanding of containerization and Kubernetes; demonstrated ability to engineer CI/CD processes in an enterprise environment, preferably with tools like Git Hub Actions or Jenkins.
- Experience scripting with Shell, Bash, Python, or Power Shell; solid knowledge of the SDLC lifecycle is required. Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, KVM) is a plus, and coding experience with software development languages is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, IT management, and team members.
- Detail‑oriented and thorough, with excellent technical writing skills, effective time management, and the ability to mentor less experienced team members.
