Job Summary

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet operations, ensuring smooth execution of events and exceptional member and guest experience. This role involves managing the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions while maintaining Invited service standards. The Banquet Supervisor will work closely with the banquet team, ensuring proper staffing, coordination, and compliance with safety and service guidelines, while directly interacting with members, guests, and team members to deliver a seamless and high‑quality event experience.

  • Reports to the Banquet Manager, Banquet Director or Director of Food & Beverage
Day To Day Responsibilities
  • Recruit, develop, and performance manage banquet service personnel according to club procedures.
  • Implement and facilitate training programs, including service training, to maintain well‑trained staff in line with Invited service standards, driving service excellence, member satisfaction, and retention.
  • Communicate with the Event Sales Director during event preparation to ensure proper staffing and seamless execution of private functions.
  • Review banquet event orders (BEO’s) and daily logs to understand function details, ensuring room setups correspond with function sheets and making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Oversee the timely service of food and beverages, ensuring adherence to Invited standards of service and quality.
  • Monitor events to ensure food is served on time, communicate with the event host post‑event to confirm their satisfaction, and collect payment, completing necessary accounting paperwork.
  • Manage room breakdown and setup based on event details outlined in the function book.
  • Execute opening procedures for the banquet department and ensure the room is prepared according to event standards.
  • Record relevant information in the MOD log for the next shift.
  • Provide a warm welcome by greeting members and guests by name and ensuring their needs are met throughout the event.
  • Ensure all side work is completed, including maintaining clean and organized work areas, refilling and stocking containers and supplies, and ensuring sanitary conditions as outlined in the Service standards.
  • Interact professionally with members and guests, accommodating changes and last‑minute requests as needed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the restaurant, banquet, or club‑related field within the food & beverage industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred certifications:
    Food Handlers’ Certificate, Alcohol Safety, TABC Certification, CPR Certification, Food Safety Program, and HFWACT.
  • Completion of Food Safety and Alcohol Safety training.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, squatting, kneeling, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and folding/unfolding as required.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity.
