Job Description

We are seekinga dynamic and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for overseeingandcoordinating banquet events, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and guests have amemorable experience.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
  • Supervise and coordinate all banquet events, including weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions
  • Work closely with the banquet manager and event planner to ensure all event details are executed flawlessly
  • Lead and direct the banquet team, including servers, bartenders, and setup staff, to ensure excellent service and efficiency
  • Greet and interact with guests, ensuring their needs are met and resolving any issues promptly
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens,and decorations
  • Ensure that food and beverage service is timely and of high quality
  • Monitor inventory levels of banquet supplies and coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff asneeded
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Train and mentor banquet staff, providing ongoing support and guidance
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately when required
  • Assist with post-event cleanup and ensure all equipment is stored properly
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a banquet captain or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Education in hospitality management is a plus
General Physical Demands for the Position:

Banquet Captains will regularly stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, turn, lift, walk, and carry andlift up to fifty (50) pounds.
