The Student Nutrition Aide (3.5 Hours) will assist during meal service, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and school rules and regulations while circulating through the cafeteria.

- Maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Manage students during meal service, referring behavior problems to the teacher or principal as established by the school site.
- Circulate throughout the cafeteria, assisting students and encouraging good table manners, balanced meals, and trying unfamiliar foods.
- Assist Student Nutrition Services (SNS) staff with special diet requests, ensuring students receive the correct food.
- Assist with food tastings by working with the SNS manager and staff to offer samples of new foods and solicit student feedback.
- Prepare and clean “allergy free” tables according to established procedures.
- Keep cafeteria tables clean and free of spills and trash; ensure the cafeteria is ready for the next group of students after dismissing classes in an orderly manner.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- Dependability: responds to requests for service and assistance, follows instructions, and meets attendance and punctuality guidelines.

- Job Knowledge: is competent in required skills, learns and applies new skills, keeps abreast of current developments, and uses resources effectively.
