Overview

Occupational Therapist (Finance)

An Occupational Therapist helps and treats patients whose movement and physical abilities are impaired. The occupational therapist will interact with patients and other health care providers to diagnose problems, establish goals and decide upon a course of treatment or management, then implement that plan with the patient. Requires Florida State Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and 2 or more years of experience with children ages 0-5 years.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical services to families and children served within the Early Steps program, including evaluation and assessment.
  • Develop individualized family/child goals and strategies on the Individualized Family Support Plan; provide ongoing intervention including developmental strategies, coaching and mentoring families, team-based strategies.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate difficult news to families; address family grief and fear in practice.
  • Participate in ongoing monitoring of internal and community providers related to program requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Assistant Program Director and the Community Compliance & Development Program Coordinator to implement the provider mentoring model integrated with the Team Based Primary Service Provider approach.
  • Develop internal agency processes to promote family-centered care and the team-based primary service provider approach.
  • Provide education and training to medical students and pediatric residents who rotate through the Early Steps program.
  • Provide community training and mentoring related to clinical services provided to children and families through the Early Steps program.
  • Deliver services in the child s natural environment (home, daycare, or other community settings) and support developmental progress through individualized strategies and mentoring.
  • Adhere to program requirements, including documentation, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Travel required minimum 3 days/week with mileage reimbursed.
  • Contribute to ongoing training and professional development.
