Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Technician / Lab Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Tampa FL 33617
.

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Schedule: 8pm- 4:30am
, 40 hrs /Week

Pay Range/Salary Range: $19.78/hr

• Provide general support within the Specimen Processing Department with a data entry background.
• Perform functions such as A-station, presort, pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory, imaging/microfilming, centrifugation and aliquoting.
• Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and organization; learn and understand specimen types and tests ordered by the client.
• Learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering, which may change daily.
• Adapt to day-to-day changes and demonstrate flexibility; respond to varying customer demands.
• Work primarily on the night shift with potential weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Operate in a production environment with emphasis on productivity and quality standards.
• Enter data with the ability to manage 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
• Adhere to safety practices while working in a biohazard environment.
• Maintain a neat and clean work area; communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to change.

• Education:
  
  HS diploma or equivalent.
• Required Knowledge:
  Basic understanding of computers; preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
• Work Experience:
  
  No experience required but previous laboratory experience is preferred; medical background and terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory are a plus; previous hospital laboratory experience and production-environment experience are preferred.
