The Certified Sterile Processing Technician functions within sterile processing to process instruments, equipment and supplies for utilization in the operating room, in‑house departments and clinics. This includes appropriate record keeping and distribution. The technician observes all rules and regulations governing processing standards of practice regarding all methods of sterilization and processing, works independently with minimal supervision, and demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve many issues simultaneously.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CBSPD or IAHCSMM‑CRCST certification required at hire; if not certified, 3 years of relevant experience and must obtain certification within 12 months.
• Familiarity with medical supplies, operating‑room routines, infection control principles, and regulatory practices.
• Experience with an automated inventory control system or instrumentation database is preferred.

Minimum 6 months of customer service experience in any field. CRCST or CBSPD is required.
