Strides Therapy & Educational Services is a leading local provider of contract therapy services dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of students in schools. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals, working collaboratively to support students' communication and language development within educational settings.
Position Overview:
As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges, improve their speech and language skills, and achieve their educational goals.
Additional Details:
• One high school site, 5 days per week; starts November 10 or December 1st.
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
- Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech-language pathology.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school-based professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.
- Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Florida licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience in pediatric or school-based speech-language pathology is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
