Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging, anatomy, and patient care, with a focus on maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn). The Sonographer will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging results while ensuring a high standard of patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including obstetric, gynecologic, and other specialized imaging as required.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring their comfort.
- Utilize advanced sonography techniques to capture clear images of internal organs, tissues, and fetal development.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including images and technical notes.
- Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret imaging results and assist in diagnosis.
- Keep equipment properly maintained, calibrated, and up-to-date with current technology standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in medical imaging, physiology knowledge, and sonography practices through ongoing professional development.
- Proven experience or training in sonography with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
- Specialized expertise in maternal-fetal medicine and Ob/Gyn imaging is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to ultrasound procedures.
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques and the use of ultrasound equipment.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Ability to maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infection risks.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on comfort and safety during examinations.
- Certification or licensure as required by state or national regulatory bodies is preferred but not mandatory for internship roles; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates eager to learn.
