What you will have an opportunity to do:
Hotel Flor Tampa Downtown is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for this iconic, historic downtown hotel. The Director of Finance serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for safeguarding assets, ensuring financial accuracy, driving profitability, and providing strategic financial insight to ownership and management.
This role requires a strong hospitality finance background, experience with forecasting and asset management, and the ability to support ownership reporting and capital planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting and finance functions for the property.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the General Manager and ownership.
- Develop and execute annual budgets, forecasts, and long‑term financial plans.
- Analyze monthly P&L statements and provide actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Oversee month‑end close process and financial reporting.
- Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard hotel assets.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital.
- Oversee payroll processing and compliance.
- Prepare and present financial packages to ownership.
- Support asset management reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with lender covenants (if applicable).
- Assist with Cap Ex planning and ROI analysis.
- Partner with department leaders to manage labor costs and expense controls.
- Provide financial modeling for pricing, group contracts, and special projects.
- Support revenue management strategy with financial analytics.
- Participate in executive meetings and strategic planning sessions.
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain insurance and risk management documentation.
- Establish a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Cross‑train staff to support operational flexibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of hotel Director of Finance or Assistant DOF experience.
- Strong knowledge of hotel systems (e.g., Opera, M3, Workday, etc.).
- Experience in lifestyle, boutique, or historic properties preferred.
- Proven ability to lead budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Experience with ownership reporting and asset management partnerships.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
