DescriptionShield is seeking a highly strategic Director of Finance Integration to lead the financial onboarding and integration of newly acquired MSP partners. This is a high-visibility leadership role responsible for ensuring newly onboarded partners successfully transition into Shield’s financial ecosystem with clarity, confidence, and operational alignment.
Acting as the face of Finance during partner onboarding, this leader will guide executive teams through financial expectations, systems alignment, and integration milestones across the first 30-60-90 days and beyond. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting and systems background, executive presence, and demonstrated experience integrating acquired entities within a growth-focused or private-equity-backed environment.
This role blends strategic leadership with operational execution, building scalable integration frameworks while driving hands-on results during periods of rapid expansion.
This role will be expected to travel 25-50%.
Key ResponsibilitiesCross-Functional Leadership and Assessment
- Serve as the primary finance lead for newly acquired MSP partners and deliver a partner-first onboarding experience that balances accountability with relationship building.
- Establish credibility with partner executives by translating financial requirements, timelines, and deliverables into clear, actionable guidance.
- Lead structured 30-60-90 day financial onboarding plans that drive long-term success within the Shield ecosystem.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR, IT, and Executive teams to provide visibility into integration progress, risks, and overall onboarding health.
Financial Operations & Systems Alignment
- Drive integration into Shield TP’s financial infrastructure, including accounting processes, reporting structures, and system workflows.
- Ensure data integrity, chart of accounts alignment, and reporting readiness in collaboration with Accounting, IT, and Operations.
- Evaluate legacy workflows and implement scalable standardization strategies with minimal business disruption.
M&A Integration & Transition Management
- Collaborate with executive leadership on post-close financial integration strategy and ensure seamless transition from diligence through operational execution.
- Develop repeatable integration playbooks and proactively identify and mitigate financial, operational, and control risks.
- Assess acquired partners’ financial health, accounting capabilities, US GAAP compliance, and internal controls, overseeing close processes and driving timely reporting and compliance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent credentials preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience, with deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, U.S. GAAP, and multi-entity financial reporting.
- Proven success leading post-acquisition integrations and complex multi-entity transitions in high-growth, acquisition-driven, or PE-backed environments.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute structured integration roadmaps, ensuring continuity from diligence through operational execution.
- Strong financial systems leadership experience, including ERP integrations, chart of accounts alignment, reporting infrastructure, and scalable process standardization.
- Advanced analytical and Excel capabilities with strong financial risk identification, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with partner executives, cross-functional leaders, and offshore teams.
- Highly accountable and adaptable leader who operates strategically while remaining hands-on in fast-paced, high-frequency M&A environments.
Preferred
- Experience supporting MSPs, technology-enabled services organizations, or roll-up acquisition models.
- Background in PE-backed portfolio companies with high transaction volume.
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting platforms, financial reporting tools, and PSA systems common within MSP environments.
- Experience building scalable integration playbooks, finance transformation initiatives, or shared service models.
